BIO
Dr. Lai is a Professor Emeritus in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Georgia Tech. Before he retired in 2002, he had taught at Georgia Tech from 1975 to 2002, and at the Department of Civil Engineering at University Utah from 1967 to 1975. He obtained BSCE in 1962 from Taiwan University, MS in 1965 and Ph.D in 1967 in Engineering Mechanics from Brown University. Dr. Lais research interests include pavement materials; design, construction, performance evaluation and rehabilitation of both asphalt pavement and concrete pavement; and application of GIS and information technology for infrastructures assessment and management.
